Our story, since 1981

On April 1st, 1981, Dr. Steven Crognale and Dr. Patricia Collins saw their first patients. That September their daughter Melissa was born, and she grew up in the practice.

Many long-time patients remember her playing in the waiting room. In 2008 she followed her parents’ path and joined them, the second generation of Crognales in the practice.

Four things worth knowing.

Over 300 implants

Dr. Steven Crognale has taken extensive training in implant dentistry, has restored hundreds of cases and has placed over 300 dental implants.

Their own smile gallery

Every before-and-after case in the practice’s smile gallery was done by the doctors in this office, from bonding to a set of twelve porcelain veneers.

Whitening, with sensitivity

Over-the-counter whiteners can make sensitive teeth worse. We plan the whitening around your sensitivity, one patient at a time.

Bonding in one visit

Chipped, cracked, spaced or discolored teeth. Bonding is one of the easiest and least expensive treatments, and is usually done in a single visit.

Children & new patients

A first visit within six months of the first tooth.

Early preventive care is key to giving your children a long-lasting, healthy smile. At your child’s first visit, our doctors and staff do their best to make it a positive and exciting one. We will:

  1. Review medical and dental history with you
  2. Assess growth and development with a thorough oral exam
  3. Discuss risks of future problems, like cavities
  4. A thorough cleaning, and how to care for teeth at home
  5. Talk through teething, pacifiers and thumb-sucking
  6. What to do in case of an emergency

Common questions

What people ask before they book.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes. Call the office on (717) 898-6068 or send the form on this page, and we will find a time that suits you. New patients can fill in the New Patient Information Form before they arrive.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. We accept assignment from most insurance companies, and for PPOs and HMOs we will submit the necessary forms for you. We also offer CareCredit financing.

How often do I need to visit the dentist if I brush daily?

Brushing and flossing daily are the best care at home. Visiting twice a year lets us keep tabs on any changes and give you a proper cleaning, so keep brushing and flossing and book your visit every 6 months.

How will I know if veneers are right for me, or if I just need whitening?

Veneers, whitening and Invisalign are all ways of improving your smile. Teeth can become yellow or worn, or you may be unhappy with gaps. We will help you work out which method is best for you.

Will Invisalign hurt to wear?

It shouldn’t. You may feel some discomfort as your teeth shift, but the aligners are a much gentler material than the metal of traditional braces.

Why should I replace a missing back tooth?

When you lose a tooth, the teeth around it can shift into the space, creating a crooked smile or an uncomfortable bite, and the gap can trap food and bacteria. Replacing it protects your smile and your health.

Are implants as strong as a bridge?

In most cases, implants are stronger than bridges. An implant replaces the tooth directly, so there is no need to disturb the teeth next to it, and it helps protect the bone.

I grind my teeth and now they are worn. What can help?

First we confirm that you are grinding. If so, one of our dentists will likely make you a night guard to wear while you sleep, and depending on the wear, crowns can help protect the teeth that remain.
